Miami Flower Market Opens

The Miami Flower Market opens Saturday, September 24th. The first of its kind to open to both florists and the public, the market will celebrate with a day full of free flowers, local food trucks, free DIY classes and special prizes. A full list of events is below.

Floating Points at North Beach Bandshell

III Points presents the first installment of ROAD TO III POINTS 2016 with London-based artist Floating Points at the North Beach Bandshell. Floating Point plays a rare live set – a big band astral-jazz excursion, full of luscious strings and majestic horn charts, mixing funk with sonic sound. Opening set by Olga Bell.

ROAD TO III POINTS 2016 is a series of events counting down to as they count down to the  III Points festival in October in Wynwood which brings together music, art and technology.

Carl Hiassen at Books & Books

Author Carl Hiassen discusses his new book Razor Girl at an event with Books & Books on Wednesday, September 28th at 7:30 pm. Hiassen has authored thirteen previous novels, including the best-selling Star Island and Skinny Dip, four best-selling children's books and works of nonfiction. Born and raised in Florida, his works often take inspiration from the Sunshine State, using the Everglades, Florida Keys and Miami as a backdrop. 

Razor Girl is partly based on true events and takes readers on a adventure with some of Hiassen's wildest characters. Purchase of Razor Girl is required, and entitles the buyer entry for two to the event. Space is limited.
