Fast Times at Ridgemont High in 35mm

O Cinema & Secret Celluloid Society present a 35mm screening of the 1980s classic Fast Times at Ridgemont High this Saturday, June 4th. The comedy, penned by director Cameron Crowe, shows a slice of American life through a group of California teenagers. 

The cast includes Phoebe Cates, Jennifer Jason Leigh, Sean Penn at in the lauded role of Jeff Spicoli, and Ray Walston as Mr. Hand, the strict teacher. Admission is $10, the film starts at 11 pm.

ArtSail Residency Open for Applications

Are you an artist? Do you want to live on a boat? Applications for the ARTSail Residency & Research Program are now available! ARTSail grants selected artists and curators the possibility to live and/or work on board a vessel for a period of 4-6 weeks.

In partnership with the Patricia and Philip Frost Museum of Science,  ARTSail is a nomadic, floating art project that provides artists and cultural practitioners the opportunity to research and explore the extensive coastlines and waterways that surround Miami.

Participating artists are invited to collaborate with scientists and/or science students involved with the Patricia and Philip Frost Museum of Science and are invited to further existing research or generate new work in response to Miami’s relationship to the water relating to sea-level rise, coral bleaching and coral restoration, hydroponic and aquaponic farming, and phosphorus pollution in the Everglades National Park.

Celebrate National Donut Day with The Salty Donut

To celebrate National Donut Day, The Salty Donut – Miami's popular purveyor of craft donuts – is hosting a party alongside LYFE Brand, J.Wakefield Brewery, Miami Smokers and favorite locals neighborhood bar, The Anderson. Tickets to the event are $52 per person and are available for purchase at Mixstir.com. 

If you want to skip the official party, the official afterparty for the event is open to the public and will take place at The Anderson Bar in Miami’s burgeoning MiMo District. The Salty Donut has worked in collaboration with The Anderson to create a unique donut and cocktail pairing special for one night only.
