Rhye Plays the North Beach Bandshell

COURTESY OF RHYE

The Rhythm Foundation presents the neo-soul LA-based Danish-Canadian duo Rhye at The North Beach Bandshell for one night, on Saturday, November 12th. The band's sound is a sultry blend of electronic pop, sensual jazz and deep soul with lyrics that ooze sex.

Their 2013 debut album Woman was an instant success, drawing both interest and speculation from critics and fans alike. Band member Milosh's high contralto croon and androgynous vocals drew comparisons to the British-Nigerian singer Sade, alongside The xx and Michael Franks. The album was long-listed for a Polaris Music Prize in 2013.

Local Maco Monthervil, formerly with The Lover’s Key, who is in the midst of launching a solo career, opens the show.
