To celebrate the life of renowned artist Prince, O Cinema will host a special screening of Purple Rain this weekend on April 29th. The film is a semi-autobiographical tale of a Minneapolis musician navigating the club scene while dealing with a romantic rival and a difficult family. Released in 1984 it was a box-office success receiving an Academy Award for Best Original Song Score. Screening Saturday, April 30th 11:30 pm and Sunday, May 1st at 8:30 pm.

Tonight Popcorn Nights, Popcorn Frights Film Festival and O Cinema present a special one-night-only 30th anniversary screening of the 1986 musical horror comedy of Little Shop of Horrors.  This newly restored 2K presentation includes the film’s original 23-minute finale that was not part of the 1986 theatrical release. Playing April 27th, 7 pm.

Poplife Presents Bonobo

Poplife Presents Bonobo this Friday at 1306. The British indie-electro producer Simon Green who goes by the name Bonobo comes to Miami this week to showcase sounds from his North Borders Tour alongside some of his newest music. Known for tracks that layer drum and bass with electronic synth, the DJ also tours with a full band. Show is Friday, April 29th 11:00 pm - get tickets.
