The Rhythm Foundation presents the Miami debut of Ibeyi at The North Beach Bandshell on Sunday May 8th, 7 pm. Pronounced ee-bey-ee, Ibeyi means “twins” in the language of the Yoruban culture of Lisa-Kainde and Naomi Diaz. The twins’ roots are reflected in their multi-lingual lyrics – English, French, and Yoruban – combined with ritual chants, synths and jazz vocals. Born in Paris of Cuban descent, the twins collaboration produces a multicultural sound that is rich with diverse influences. Miami favorites Afrobeta open.
