O, Miami Celebrates Donald Justice

Join O, Miami in a two-day celebration of the most important Miami-born poet, Donald Justice (1925-2004). A winner of numerous poetry prizes, including the Pulitzer and The National Book Award, Justice is one of the most important poets of the 20th century whose influence can be seen in many of today's highly-celebrated living writers.

In celebration of his life and work, O, Miami presents two events, taking place Saturday, August 20th and Sunday, August 21st. Both events are part of "And Justice for All," a county-wide celebration of Donald Justice sponsored by the John S. and James L. Knight Foundation.

On Saturday, play Ping Pong for Justice at Primary Projects. The acclaimed poet loved to play ping pong so O, Miami honors this with a ping-pong party complete with free beer and pizza, a poetry recording booth, and a photo booth.

On Sunday, August 21, O, Miami partners with The Betsy-South Beach to co-host a salon with David Orr, poetry critic for The New York Times, followed by a reading of Justice's poems by friends and Miami poets.
