Laura Lima Opens at ICA Miami
/ICA Miami presents The Inverse by Laura Lima, the debut American solo museum exhibition for the renowned Brazilian artist. Using industrial nylon rope, Lima presents a site-specific installation, that entangles the gridded support beams of the museum’s Atrium Gallery with the braided material that seemingly dwindles in size until it seems to merge with a partially out-of-view female body.
Laura Lima's works have been seen around the world at both solo exhibitions and group shows. She is a co-founder and partner of the Galeria de Artes A Gentil Carioca in downtown Rio de Janeiro, where she lives and works.
The exhibit opens on Friday, June 3 and is on view through October 30, 2016. The opening reception starts at 7 pm and is open to the public.
