MouthWater at YoungArts

Now on display, National YoungArts Foundation launches a special exhibition curated by renowned sculptor and YoungArts master teacher Robert Chambers. MouthWater features works by an extraordinary cross-section of visual arts, design and photography alumni, dating back to 1980.

On view in the campus gallery through November 21, MouthWater provides the public with the unique opportunity to experience creative expression alongside longstanding artistic practices. The exhibit also brings to light the role of YoungArts as a platform for dialogue to occur among artists across generations.

An Image curated by Natalia Zuluaga and Domingo Castillo at ArtCenter South Florida is now on exhibits until December 18th, 2016.

The exhibit focuses on how images mutate, supplant, or intersect with reality and scale their effects across a gamut of impact zones and temporalities. According to the release, An Image serves as a stage upon which the logic of the image is dismantled through a series of objects, talks, screenings, performances, and reading groups.

The exhibit's unique visuals were inspired by an archival interpretation of Arquitectonica's Pink House

In celebration of the 100th year of Alfred Browning Parker's birth HistoryMiami Museum presents The Discipline of Nature exploring the life and design of the iconic architect. Best known for his modern residential designs, Alfred Browning Parker was a prolific architect whose projects number in the hundreds in the span of his 60 year career.

He is famous for the “tropex-pansible home", constructed with high quality modular parts and known for developing the "tropical modern" style that is still prevalent in South Florida design today.

The museum exhibit features original drawings, archival designs, and showcases his use of natural materials to create harmony between his works and their surroundings. The HistoryMIami Museum exhibit opens Saturday, September 24 at 6:00 pm.
